June 13, 2015 Exhibit at 1450 Ocean Ave. in Santa Monica – Saturday June 27th Posted In: Events, News

I’m happy to say that I’ll be participating in an exhibit on Saturday June 27th 2015 at a very new location for me and my friends at the Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains & Seashore:  the wonderful “Camera Obscura” at 1450 Ocean on the Palisades walk in Santa Monica!  On the cliffs overlooking the Santa Monica Pier, we’ll be displaying at the Center for Arts and Movement, in the same building as Santa Monica’s Camera Obscura.  If you’re not familiar with what a camera obscura is:  it’s basically any small aperture that’s made in a surface (in this case, a hole in the wall of the building), that serves to focus light on the surface opposite of the aperture (in this case, on the opposite wall) and projects an image on that surface.  This is the precursor to photography and provides an interesting view of Santa Monica’s beach, projected onto a wall inside the building.

I will be one of 8 artists displaying in the North Annex room of the Center, from 11:30AM to 4:30PM.  In addition to my watercolor and ink work, you’ll see phenomenal original paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and pastel.  Landscapes and seascapes of our wonderful coastal area, the Santa Monica Mountains, and the Malibu shores.  As always, I’ll donate 20% of my sales to conservation causes in Southern California that will help preserve this beautiful place we are privileged to live in…

Come out and visit me!
